ANSWER: God is spirit (John 4:24), and He could scatter His nature (Joel 2:28). When Adam and Eve fell to the trap of Satan, they lost their eternal lives since the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). The glory that clothed their bodies had gone, as a result, they suffered body deterioration and death (Genesis 2:17). And since we are their descendants, we inherited their condition, like them we also suffer body deterioration and death. Only a perfect or sinless man can have eternal life but all have sins, thus mankind is doomed to perish. God looked for a man to be the reason why He won’t destroy mankind, but found no one (Isaiah 59:16 & Ezekiel 22:30). But because God so loved the world, He set up a salvation plan, He sent forth His word or spirit then made It as His son through a decree (Psalm 2:7). The reason why the Son of God was manifested was to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). If not the sin, there would be no son being manifested. The word, spirit, or the son of God entered the Earth through human birth (John 6:38, John 1:14, & Matthew 1:16). Why human birth? For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man (1 Corinthians 15:21). Jesus faced his cruel destiny and obeyed the law perfectly even death on the cross. The intention of God was for mankind to have a perfect or sinless man in order for them to be saved from destruction.
Why Jesus prayed? Because that’s one of the things that a man should do under the law _to pray. If Jesus did not pray and instead used his divinity, he could not be a sinless man since he violated the law. Thus, Jesus needed to live his earthly life and face his fate using his humanity. Moreover, he reasoned out why he prayed, it is for the people to observe so that they would believe the Father who sent him (John 11:41-42). In other words, Jesus exalted the Father as required by the law _that is to glorify the Father (Psalm 50:15 & John 17:4). If you exalt your fellow, you need to humble yourself to him, and you praise him.
