Jibril is afraid of dogs

Can you believe this, angel Jibril is afraid of dogs according to Muhammad? Angel Jibril was the one who brought the revelations from God to Muhammad, thus he’s a close servant of the creator of the Universe. But only to find out that he has phobia of dogs? Isn’t this teaching so ignorant and hilarious? This teaching is just one of the numerous ridiculousness taught by Muhammad, but sadly, his believers take his teahings as true.

1. [Sahih al-Bukhari 3227] Narrated Salim’s father: Once Gabriel promised the Prophet (that he would visit him, but Gabriel did not come) and later on he said, “We, angels, do not enter a house which contains a picture or a dog.”

2. [Sahih al-Bukhari 5960] Narrated Salim’s father: Once Gabriel promised to visit the Prophet but he delayed and the Prophet got worried about that. At last he came out and found Gabriel and complained to him of his grief (for his delay). Gabriel said to him, “We do not enter a place in which there is a picture or a dog.”

3. [Sahih Muslim 2104aA‘isha reported that Gabriel (peace be upon him) made a promise with Allah’s Messenger to come at a definite hour; that hour came but he did not visit him. And there was in his hand (in the hand of Allah’s Apostle) a staff. He threw it from his hand and said:  Never has Allah or His messengers (angels) ever broken their promise. Then he cast a glance (and by chance) found a puppy under his cot and said: ‘A’isha, when did this dog enter here? She said: By Allah, I don’t know He then commanded and it was turned out. Then Gabriel came and Allah’s Messenger said to him: You promised me and I waited for you, but you did not come, whereupon he said: It was the dog in your house which prevented me (to come), for we (angels) do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.

4. [Sahih Muslim 2105]  Maimuna reported that one morning Allah’s Messenger was silent with grief. Maimuna said: Allah’s Messenger, I find a change in your mood today. Allah’s Messenger said: Gabriel had promised me that he would meet me tonight, but he did not meet me. By Allah, he never broke his promises, and Allah’s Messenger spent the day in this sad (mood). Then it occurred to him that there had been a puppy under their cot. He commanded and it was turned out. He then took some water in his hand and sprinkled it at that place. When it was evening Gabriel met him and he said to him: you promised me that you would meet me the previous night. He said: Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture. Then on that very morning he commanded the killing of the dogs until he announced that the dog kept for the orchards should also be killed, but he spared the dog meant for the protection of extensive fields (or big gardens).

5. [Sunan Ibn Majah 3651] It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “Jibril (as) promised the Messenger of Allah that he would come to him at a certain hour, but he was late. The Prophet went out and there was Jibril standing at the door. He said: ‘What kept you from entering?’ He said: ‘There is a dog in the house, and we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.’”

6. [Sunan Abi Dawud 4157] Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: Maimunah, wife of the Prophet reported him as saying: Gabriel (peace be upon him) promised to visit me last night, but he did not visit me. Then it occurred to him that there was a pup under his bed. So he ordered and it was turned out. He then got water in his hand and sprinkled it on its place. When Gabriel met him, he said: We do not enter a house which contains a dog or a picture. When the morning came, the Prophet ordered to kill dogs. He ordered to kill the dog which guarded a small orchard, and left the dog which guarded the big orchard.

7. [Sunan an-Nasa’i 4276] It was narrated that Az-Zuhri said: “Ibn As-Sabbaq said: “Maimunah told me that Jibril, peace be upon him, said to the Messenger of Allah ‘We (Angles) do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture, The next day the Messenger of Allah commanded that all dogs be killed, even small dogs.”‘

8. [Sunan an-Nasa’i 4283] Maimunah, the wife of the Prophet narrated: “The Messenger of Allah was upset one morning and Maimunah said to him: “O Messenger of Allah, you look upset today., He said: ‘Jibril, peace be upon him, had promised to meet me last night but he did not come, and by Allah, he never failed to keep an appointment,; The day passed, then he thought of a puppy that was beneath a table of ours. He ordered that it be taken out, and then he took some water In his hand and sprinkled it over the place where it had been. That evening, Jibril, peace be upon him, came and met him. The Messenger of Allah said to him: ‘You [promised to meet me last night,; He said: ‘Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture,; the next day the Messenger of Allah Commanded that dogs be killed.”

9. [Riyad as-Salihin 1685] Ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: Jibril (Gabriel) promised to visit the Messenger of Allah but delayed and this grieved him very much. When he came out of his house, Jibril met him. The Messenger of Allah asked him about the reason of delay, and he replied: “We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a portrait.

10. [Riyad as-Salihin 1686] ‘Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said: Jibril (Gabriel) made a promise with the Messenger of Allah to come at a definite hour; that hour came but he did not visit him. There was a staff in the hand of the Messenger of Allah. He threw it from his hand and said, “Never does Allah back out of His Promise, nor do His messengers.” Then he noticed a puppy under his bed and said, “O ‘Aishah, when did this dog enter?” She said: “By Allah, I don’t know.” He then commanded that it should be turned out. No sooner than had they expelled it, Jibril came and the Messenger of Allah said to him, “You promised to visit me. I waited for you but you did not come.” Whereupon he said: “The dog kept me from coming. We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.”
