Quoted from the Old Testament

  1. [Deuteronomy 27:26] ‘Cursed is he who does not confirm the words of this law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
  2. [Deuteronomy 29:29] The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.
  3. [Isaiah 2:3] And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
  4. [Jeremiah 31:33] But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
  5. [Ezra 7:26] Anyone who refuses to obey the law of your God and the law of the king will be punished immediately, either by death, banishment, confiscation of goods, or imprisonment.”

Quoted from the New Testament

  1. [Luke 24:44] He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
  2. [John 1:17-18] For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
  3. [Matthew 5:17] “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
  4. [Hebrews 9:22] Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
  5. [Romans 2:12-14] All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous. Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.
  6. [Romans 2:25] The Jewish ceremony of circumcision has value only if you obey God’s law. But if you don’t obey God’s law, you are no better off than an uncircumcised Gentile.
  7. [Romans 2:27] In fact, uncircumcised Gentiles who keep God’s law will condemn you Jews who are circumcised and possess God’s law but don’t obey it.
  8. [Romans 3:19-21] Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago.
  9. [Romans 3:31] Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.
  10. [Romans 4:15] For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.
  11. [Romans 5:13] For sin was in the world before the law was given; but sin is not taken into account when there is no law.
  12. [Romans 7:1-2] Do you not know, brothers (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives? For instance, a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage.
  13. [Romans 8:2-3]For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin
  14. [Romans 10:4] Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
  15. [1 Corinthians 9:21] When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ.
  16. [Galatians 2:13-14] For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it.
  17. [Galatians 2:16] know that a man is not justified by works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ
  18. [Galatians 2:19] For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.
  19. [Galatian 3:10] But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”
  20. [Galatians 3:24] Before Christ came, Moses’ laws served as our guardian. Christ came so that we could receive God’s approval by faith.
  21. [Galatians 4:21] Tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says?
  22. [Galatians 6:2] Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.
  23. [Hebrews 7:28] The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.
  24. [Ephesians 2:14-15] For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new
  25. [James 4:11] Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.
