The Bible reveals that Yahweh’s care and compassion are not limited to those who worship Him. Throughout both the Old and New Testaments, God demonstrates concern for all people, including foreigners, strangers, and those who do not yet believe in Him. He provides for their needs, shows them mercy, and calls His people to treat them with kindness, fairness, and justice.
Yahweh is described as a God who loves the world and desires that people turn from wrongdoing and seek Him. Scripture repeatedly instructs believers to love their neighbors, help those in need, and live peacefully with others whenever possible. God’s blessings, such as rain, food, and life itself, are given to both the righteous and the unrighteous, reflecting His compassion for all humanity.
In contrast, Allah commands His believers to be hostile toward nonbelievers, particularly Jews and Christians, and to engage in warfare, subjugation, and the collection of tribute taxes from those under Muslim rule.
The following Biblical verses highlight Yahweh’s care for nonbelievers and demonstrate His desire that all people experience His goodness, mercy, and salvation.
1. [Exodus 22:21] You must not exploit or oppress a foreign resident, for you yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
2. [Exodus 23:9] Do not oppress a foreign resident, since you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
3. [Deuteronomy 10:19] So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.
4. [Deuteronomy 23:7] Do not despise an Edomite, for he is your brother. Do not despise an Egyptian, because you lived as a foreigner in his land.
5. [Deuteronomy 24:17] Do not deny justice to the foreigner or the fatherless, and do not take a widow’s cloak as security.
6. [Deuteronomy 27:19] Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow.
7. [Leviticus 19:33] When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you must not oppress him.
8. [Leviticus 19:34] You must treat the foreigner living among you as native-born and love him as yourself, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
9. [Ezekiel 22:7] They have abused father and mother in thee, they have oppressed the stranger in the midst of thee, they have grieved the fatherless and widow in thee.
10. [Ezekiel 22:29] The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice
11. [Ezekiel 47:23] In whatever tribe a foreigner dwells, you are to assign his inheritance there,” declares the Lord GOD
