While billions of people believe that Jesus is God, billions of others do not believe in his divinity. One of the main reasons is that they are not familiar with the Holy Bible. Some have Bibles in their homes, but they do not spend enough time and effort studying them, like many Catholics do. As a result, they can be easily influenced by beliefs that deny Christ’s divinity. Others have read or heard the message of the Bible but simply cannot understand it, or refuse to understand it because their hearts have been hardened by false beliefs. They cling to their own judgments and refuse to be converted. This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah, which says:
He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their hearts; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, and be converted, and I should heal them [Isaiah 6:9].
In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. [Matthew 13:14]
It is not easy to fathom what the Bible is conveying, but as you dig deeper with an open heart, you will get amazed and start feeling the presence of divine being. For those who have not yet touched the Bible, I will give you a brief background about this greatest book so that you may become acquainted with the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
Knowing Tanakh
To know Abrahamic Faith, we should first study Tanakh (Hebrew Bible). Tanakh is the earliest Scriptures portraying the existence of God written by Moses, prophets, and other divinely inspired writers. This prehistoric book had been preserved by the Jews through rewriting and oral tradition, and passed it down from generation to generation. Tanakh is composed of 39 books and categorized into three, namely; the Torah (Instruction/Five books of Moses), Nevi’im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings). This holy book records the creation of the universe, animals, humans, and plants. It also records the sins of man and the great love of God. The writers are acclaimed to be inspired by holy spirit. This divine being though claims He is the God of all creations, He is mostly known as the God of Abraham. Because according to Torah, Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only child to his wife just to display his firm belief in God. Because of what he did, God was pleased and made a covenant with him in return. God promised to give him numerous descendants like the stars in number. And through Abraham, all inhabitants on Earth shall be blessed [Genesis 12:1-3].

Although God is presented as the God of all creation, He is particularly known as the God of Abraham. Since Islam also claims to believe in the God of Abraham, our Muslim brothers and sisters should trace back what the earliest Scriptures teach about the God of Abraham. Studying the Tanakh (also called the Old Testament) is important for believers in the God of Abraham because it allows them to understand the roots of their faith. In this way, the knowledge they gain from the Abrahamic Scriptures can serve as a guide in making a wise judgment when examining their present faith.
A religion that discourages its followers from studying the Hebrew Bible, as I argue Islam does, is afraid of the truth; therefore, such a religion is false. Without knowledge of the Tanakh, we Abrahamic-faith believers are like driftwood floating on a sea of uncertainty, not knowing where we came from or where we will ultimately end up.

Knowing the Holy Bible
Tanakh is also the main source of the Old Testament in the Holy Bible which was compiled by Catholic Church. The Holy Bible includes 73 books and is categorized into two parts; the Old Testament and the New Testament. From Malachi (the last book in the Old Testament), it took about 400 years before the writing of the Gospel. The New Testament includes 27 books, the first four books are called Gospels. It records the fulfillment of the promised Messiah in the Old Testament, the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, the works and writings of the apostles, and Jesus’ second coming on Judgment Day (also called the Last Day or Resurrection Day).

The Inherited Sin and Death Penalty
A lot of us do not believe in the doctrine of original or inherited sin taught by Catholicism because we think that death is simply a natural part of human life. We think that we are born on this Earth to have children, grow old, get sick, and eventually rest in peace. Many of us do not realize that thi process of dying was caused by the sin of our first parents, Adam and Eve. It is ironic that we reject this teaching while experiencing sickness, aging, and death every day. For God commanded Adam:
“You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die” [Genesis 2:16-17].
But Adam and his wife disobeyed God’s warning and succumbed to Satan’s temptation [Genesis 3:1]. They wanted to become like God after being lured by the serpent [Genesis 3:5]. This was the beginning of sin spreading throughout the world and the beginning of humanity’s suffering. Humanity was expelled from paradise and lost its immortality [Genesis 3:23]. Humanity became subject to physical death and spiritual death through God’s judgment. Death entered the world because the penalty for sin is death [Proverbs 10:16 & Romans 6:23]. This is what we inherited as descendants of Adam and Eve: death, because we are born into sin [Psalm 51:5 & 58:3].
Salvation of the World by God
At the beginning of the Bible, God already announced the coming of a Savior. Right after the first parents fell into sin, God had already established a plan to destroy the work of Satan. He said to the serpent, Satan:
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel” [Genesis 3:15].
COMMENT: This seed of a woman is fulfilled in Jesus who’s born to Mary. The reason why Jesus was sent by God is to destroy the devil’s work through His death. So that in His death, He might deliver us from the power of death inflicted by Satan. Kindly read;
[1 John 3:8] He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil
[Hebrews 2:14-15] Since then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
God is like a loving and righteous father who, after disciplining and casting out his rebellious son, cannot help but express his love, mercy, and righteousness toward him. He wants His child to return to Him. He said:
[Isaiah 54:8] “In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting loving kindness I will have compassion on you,” Says the LORD your Redeemer.
[Isaiah 44:22] “I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud And your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
God redeemed the world because of His great love and mercy [Psalm 103:2–4; Isaiah 51:5; Ephesians 2:4], and not because of the righteousness of the people [Philippians 3:9]. For there is no righteous person; all people are enslaved by the power of sin [Romans 3:9]. If we do not believe in original sin, which is the cause of humanity’s separation from God, then why is there a need for the Almighty to save mankind?
The Old Testament repeatedly announced that God would send His salvation to Earth. The fact is that God saved His people because they had fallen short of His glory due to sin [Romans 3:23]. And only through renewed communion with God can humanity regain eternal life.
But what must a sinner undergo to attain everlasting life? He must become sinless or pure again [Leviticus 11:44 & Deuteronomy 23:14]. But who can bring purity out of impurity? It is God alone who can purify a sinner [Job 14:4]. God is holy; therefore, no sinful being can enter His abode [Revelation 21:27].
This is why God, taking on human flesh, entered the world and personally brought salvation to the descendants of Adam. The salvation brought by Jesus Christ is the new and everlasting covenant, sealed with His blood [Luke 22:20]. This new covenant is the fulfillment of God’s promise announced by the prophet Jeremiah, which says:
“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD [Jeremiah 31:31-32].
God is spirit [John 4:24] and can distribute His Spirit [Joel 2:28]. He sent forth a portion of His Spirit, which dwelt in a human body [John 14:10], and took the name Jesus.
It was humanity that fell into sin and death; therefore, it was also necessary for the Savior to become human in order to redeem mankind. This is why the Spirit of God, the Savior, had to take on human form. Jesus performed many miracles before the people as evidence of His divinity. He allowed His human body to be crucified and then raised it from the dead to demonstrate His power over death [John 2:18-22 & Hebrews 2:14]. Before the eyes of humanity, He demonstrated the reality of the resurrection that we will experience on the Last Day [John 6:40].
By presenting Himself as an atoning sacrifice, God demonstrated His great love and righteousness so that those who have faith in Him might be counted as righteous and justified [Isaiah 53:11 & Romans 3:25–26]. There is no salvation or purification unless we are justified by faith rather than by observing the law [James 2:24]. Without faith in the salvation provided through Christ, we will all perish [Isaiah 51:6 & Luke 13:3].

Good day A Muslim, so sorry for the very late reply. I’ve just come across your comment. You know what, when Jesus said “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30), this is already a Godhood claim. In this declaration, Jesus confirmed what the Scripture foretold that the Son to be born shall be called the everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6). When Jesus said, “I can give eternal life” (John 10:28), this is already a claim. When Jesus said, “I am in the father and the father is in me” (John 14:10), it’s already a claim. When Jesus said, “the son of man will send his angels and will separate the good and the bad people, then will throw the bad people into the fiery lake“ (Matthew 13:41-42), it’s already a claim of Godhood. When Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25), this is already a claim as well. Jesus was called God and worshiped by the people but Jesus never rebuked them (John 20:28 & Matthew 28:9]). Just understand the context, you don’t need to look for a statement of Jesus that exactly says “I am God or the Almighty therefore worship me”. Your Allah also do not say to Muhammad “We are your God, worship Us”, so why you Muslims believe Allah as your God? But if you really need a statement from Jesus declaring that He is God, you can find it in Revelation chapter 21;
[Revelation 21:6-7] Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give water from the life-giving fountain to everyone who is thirsty. All who win the victory will be given these blessings. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
God is a spirit (Genesis 1:2 & John 4:24), and a spirit works differently from physical beings. The Son is a spirit that came out from God (John 16:28) therefore he is also God. And this spirit dwells in the human flesh (John 14:10). Jesus is a radiance of God, kindly read this;
[Hebrews 1:3] The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Why Jesus was killed if He is God?
-The answer is, the first couple sinned therefore they lost their eternal lives because the punishment of sin is death. And since we are their descendants we also have to die. Only pure, perfect, or sinless man can have eternal life, but how can he be pure again if he has sin? Since God also loves mankind so much, He came to the rescue, he raised a man and put his spirit on him. This man followed the law accorded to humanity perfectly even death on the cross. So man is saved by the saving work of Jesus. If God used His power to obey the law, he’s no longer righteous in that act _His saving work is invalid. It is man who died due to sin therefore it is also man who will rise from the dead. This is the reason why the savior should be a man. Jesus though God also, He did not use His power to His advantage, instead, He emptied Himself to become an ordinary man. Kindly read this;
[Philippians 2:5-8] Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
After the saving work of Jesus, God the Father commanded all people to submit to Jesus because He gave all authority to him (Daniel 7:14 & Matthew 28:18). Since Jesus is perfect, those who will believe His saving work and follow His will, will become perfect also in the eyes of the Father.
