GREED: Bible verses

And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep

Greed is seen as an excessive desire for wealth, possessions, or power that leads a person to trust in material things instead of God. Scripture warns that greed hardens the heart, leads to injustice, and becomes a form of idolatry because it places worldly gain above obedience to God. Jesus taught that a person’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions, and the apostles described greed as a root that can lead to many other sins. The Bible calls believers to contentment, generosity, and trust in God’s provision, reminding us that true riches are spiritual and eternal, not earthly and temporary.”
