Islam, Iglesia Ni Kristo, and others teach that Jesus is not God, that He’s only a pure man and a prophet as reflected in the Bible. But I must say that these people are lying, if not ignorant of the contents of the Bible, for there are a lot of verses that tell about the Godhood of Jesus. You cannot just pick a single or two verses from the Bible to justify your opinion. You need to read its entirety for you to understand its idea before drawing a conclusion. Below are some of the Biblical verses proving the divinity of Jesus;
1. [Psalm 2:12] Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in your rebellion, when His wrath ignites in an instant. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.

2. [Isaiah 7:14]: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (God with us).
COMMENT: To live with the son is living with God at the same time.
3. [Isaiah 9:6] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
COMMENT: This verse that comes from Tanakh strongly testifies that the Son (Jesus) is the almighty God Himself. He is also the Counselor (Spirit of truth) as well as the Father. This verse testifies the Trinity of God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).

COMMENT: The three wise men (the Magi) came to Jerusalem from faraway region only to worship Jesus _thus Jesus is God. The three wise men must be divinely informed about the arrival of God in the form of a man.
7. [Matthew 2:11] They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

For it is written: “ ‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ”Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
COMMENT: “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” In other word, Jesus is telling Satan that, “I am your God, do not put me to the test.”
9. [Matthew 13:40-43] As the weeds are collected and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice lawlessness. And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
